Physical Security
The IBC DataBank application is hosted at a data centre in Hong Kong operated by Telstra Technology Services Limited. Its world-class facilities are custom designed with raised floors, HVAC temperature control systems with separate cooling zones, redundant Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS) and a backup diesel generator. The data centre has the widest range of physical security features, including state-of-the-art smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, 24 X 7 finger print ID secured access, video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.
Network Security
Data which is backed up using the IBC DataBank service resides on RAID 1,0 protected industry leading storage devices which provide multiple levels of redundancy. The servers and storage devices are protected by firewalls and remote client access can only be obtained after authentication by the backup application.
The network infrastructure is reviewed periodically by certified security consultants who check for known application and service vulnerabilities to ensure that the levels of security and reliability conform to the highest market standards.
Encryption
Data and authentication information is encrypted on transfer and storage with 128 Bit AES Encryption. While installing the IBC DataBank Online Backup application, you can provide your private encryption key (known only to you and not stored anywhere on our servers) or opt for the system-based encryption key. We recommend that you choose your own private encryption key to maintain utmost data confidentiality.
IBC DataBank does not store your private encryption key on our servers therefore we recommend that you archive it safely for future use as you will be unable to decrypt (restore) data backed up to IBC DataBank without it.
